In a world where adaptability and innovation are key to business survival, the story of ENGARAGE.io stands out as a beacon of entrepreneurial spirit and resilience. The co-founders of ENGARAGE.io, Syed Zulhilmi Tuan Sharif (CEO), and Nazmi Najib (CTO), recently shared their journey on a radio segment broadcast, ‘Open for Business’ Business FM (BFM) captivating listeners with their compelling narrative of transformation and growth.
From their humble beginnings bootstrapping in a storeroom back in 2018 for 2 years to where they are now. The co-founders revealed how they crafted their own path and are now poised to revolutionize the automotive service industry. Today, it’s setting its sights on a new horizon: Business-to-Business (B2B) services, aiming to enroll 3,000 businesses by 2025 and streamline day-to-day operations for asset and fleet owners.
Truly, life experiences may be a lesson or a blessing. For them, it is both. Nazmi Najib, co-founder and CTO of ENGARAGE.io has had a personal experience of getting stranded in the middle of the night till the next morning due to his car breakdown and help was nowhere near. That specific moment was the muse that the POMEN app is built on. The goal for POMEN was simple but transformative at the beginning: to bridge the gap between car drivers and workshops, ensuring that no one was left stranded.
Fast forward, the COVID-19 pandemic served as a catalyst for change. Recognizing the demand for vehicle servicing and maintenance especially for companies that run on delivery basis, it quickly became apparent that a broader impact was possible. ‘Workshops weren’t allowed to operate so we connect workshops to business premises like Pizza Hut that require vehicle servicing’ Nazmi Najib added. That was the turning point of POMEN, pivoting from B2C to B2B by connecting workshops to business premises. ENGARAGE.io is built on this strategic shift further identifying as the flagship product of POMEN.
Transitioning from B2C to B2B indeed has its own challenges. Balancing demand and supply, especially in educating businesses on how ENGARAGE.io differed from conventional methods, was crucial.
For businesses that still rely on pen and paper, ENGARAGE.io provides a much-needed upgrade. ‘The world can change just like that, and we need to get ready’, Syed Zulhilmi,co-founder & CEO added to highlight the uncertainty of the pandemic forcing quick adaptability for business owners. Change is necessary to grow, according to him. ‘To improve is to change’ as the idiom goes.
ENGARAGE.io now stands at a profitable, seven-figure revenue mark focusing to not only grow locally but to expand on a global scale. To realize its global ambitions, ENGARAGE.io is seeking external investors who can contribute strategically and be a dynamic part of this journey. The focus for the next 18 months is clear: increase the number of workshops using the platform and retain current customers while transforming them into ambassadors.
